DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE:
Contributing to the nutrition and health improvement of Saharawi refugees is part of a strategy that aims to provide a solution, albeit partial to the population’s nutritional problems by guaranteeing a better quality of local products of animal origin.
The planned activities are the activation of
- a control plan for avian salmonellosis
- a professional refresher course for local veterinarians on sanitary conditions of slaughterhouses and control of products of animal origin, involving those working in the supply chain, local authorities and civil society organizations
- a program to promote the results and visibility of the project
In accordance with the principles of international solidarity, VSF Italia has been cooperating with the Saharawi people for more than twenty years, working side by side to fight poverty, improve animal health and contribute to food security and sovereignty.
