DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE:
The “DIAMANTI” project aims to contribute to improving living conditions in Saharawi refugee camps through an integrated approach that includes women’s empowerment, occupational health and safety, and strengthening veterinary health services. It was born within a long-established network in Saharawi camps, consisting of three local partners and 11 Italian partners working alongside Nexus ER (proposer) and Auser ER (co-proposer).
The identification of needs stems from the implementation of the previous project LA.SA – Work, health, and food sovereignty in Saharawi refugee camps (CUP no. E11D24000100009), with the aim of promoting and improving the results already achieved.
The project is geared towards achieving SDGs 2, 3, and 5 and aims to increase Saharawi women’s family income to strengthen their economic and social autonomy and ensure food security, improve workplace safety in the domestic sphere, and strengthen the local veterinary service to also contribute to the population’s health.
