DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE:
Through capacity-building and coordination activities with other cooperation actors (WFP and other NGOs/associations working in the same sector), the project aims to give a positive impulse to local food production chains, improving the quantity and quality of food and transforming food production into a tool for acquiring dignity and reducing the frustration caused by 48 years of dependence on international aid.
This objective will be pursued through the implementation of the following short-term goals:
- Initiated training and awareness-raising on the correct use of veterinary drugs
- Improved the broiler slaughter chain, trained staff and developed a strategy for the use of animal by-products from slaughtering
- An extraordinary Brucellosis epidemiosurveillance plan is in place, the actual prevalence known and a health education campaign designed.
