DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE: The project aims to address the spread of rabies in Guinea-Bissau by focusing on community awareness and the promotion of preventive practices. The population will be informed about the importance of proper dog management and the actions to take in case of a bite. Awareness will be raised through local radio stations, the distribution of informational materials, and school courses. Additionally, health data will be analyzed to improve the reporting system for rabies cases and bites, optimizing prophylaxis. The project will also support the creation of a national vaccination plan for dogs, essential to reducing rabies in humans.
